Dear readers,
For years, I’ve been writing about the central role of emotional attachment in healthy child development. At every turn—whether in my office, on stage, or in conversation with parents—I’m met with one unshakable truth: the early relationships we form with our children shape their emotional resilience, sense of self, and ability to thrive in the world.
This is not just theory. It’s not just research. It’s what I see every day in the lives of families struggling to make sense of their children’s anxiety, behavioral issues, and emotional withdrawal. At the heart of almost every story is a child searching for safety and connection, and parents searching for guidance.
Today, I’m excited to share something that has been in the making for a long time: the official launch of Attachment Circles, a dedicated online portal designed to bring the science and soul of attachment-based parenting into community practice.
What is Attachment Circles?
Attachment Circles is more than just a platform—it’s a gathering place. It is a digital sanctuary for parents, caregivers, therapists, educators, and anyone who understands that emotional security in childhood is not optional but foundational.
Here, you’ll find:
Live and on-demand workshops on secure attachment, emotional regulation, and maternal mental health.
Expert resources to help you navigate the early years and beyond with clarity and compassion.
A community of like-minded parents who believe that emotional attunement isn’t a luxury—it’s the work of love.
Why Now?
We are in the midst of an emotional health crisis in children and adolescents. The rise in anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues is staggering—but not surprising. When children are disconnected from emotionally present caregivers, they develop coping mechanisms that may protect them in the short term but erode their well-being in the long run.
Attachment Circles was born from the urgent need to intervene early, to support the emotional scaffolding of the next generation by empowering parents now, not when it's too late.
My Invitation to You
Whether you’re a new mother battling ambivalence or guilt, a father striving to be more emotionally available, or a therapist seeking to deepen your work with families, this is for you. Attachment Circles is where science meets support, and where we stop shaming parents and start holding them.
The portal is live now. I hope you’ll explore it. I hope you’ll join us at attachmentcircles.org.
Because connection is not a trend, it’s a necessity.
Warmly,
Erica Komisar, LCSW
